A new month, with new free games for PS Plus members. So, what do we have in our baskets? Let’s see:

PS4 Titles:

• Disc Jam: “A fast-paced action-sports game that pits 2-4 players against each other in a unique combination of air hockey and tennis. Players scramble to retrieve and throw a glowing disc while unleashing devastating abilities and defending their end zone. An exciting blend of strategy and skill, this arcade-inspired title boasts a zany roster of characters to compete with friends both on the couch and online.“

• Tearaway Unfolded: From the creators of LittleBigPlanet, here is a fun PS Vita port. “Tearaway™ Unfolded for PlayStation®4 is an expanded retelling of the BAFTA award-winning Tearaway™. The adventure that was once held in your hands has been reimagined as a world inside your TV, with a bigger, more beautiful world to explore, and all new fourth-wall-busting ways to play.“

PS3 Titles:

• Under Night: In-Birth: “Pick one of the many unique characters, and fight your way through the dangers of the “Hollow Night”, and claim your victory over those who obstruct your way. Experience the classic anime fighter controls, with a splash of devastating combos and thrilling exchanges! A fight is more than just pressing buttons!“

• Earth Defense Force 2025: “Earth Defense Force 2025 is the long awaited follow-up in the Earth Defense Force (EDF) series from Japanese developer Sandlot. The insects return from dormancy to end humanity with over-the-top action and massive city-leveling explosions that will entrench the EDF and the citizens of Earth into a state of emergency.“

PS Vita Titles:

• Lumo: “As a contemporary take on the long-lost isometric platform genre, Lumo can be enjoyed by anyone looking for an absorbing, challenging and rewarding adventure. But for those who lived through the golden age of videogames – the 80s and early 90s – or know about the games and culture from that time, layer upon layer of nods, winks and touches to those times help build upon an experience that’s as heart-warming as it is exciting!“

• Severed: “In Severed you play as a distraught warrior, who is lost in a fantastical world. She is tasked with the challenge of knitting together pieces of her story from both the past and the future. Our heroine will embark on a journey through a surreal non-linear world using a gesture based combat mechanic to defeat enemies in this first person adventure. Unlock new abilities, discover secrets of the land, and grow in power as you master both offensive and defensive techniques. Let Severed be your mystery to unravel.”

Well, while all of these seems fun, the PS Plus members are a little bit disappointed about the line-up.  I would certainly try Earth Defence Force 2025 out, as long as I am completely intoxicated by some beverage. Tearaway is LittleBigPlanet style fun, while… oh whatever, if you are a PS Plus member, you’ll get them all anyway!
