Atari’s CEO has Confirmed the Rumours: Ataribox is Coming

The CEO of the legendary console brand Atari, Fred Chesnais, confirmed the rumours about the new Atari gaming console: Ataribox. During E3, Chesnais declared that they were coming back to the hardware market. And of course, that leaves us with many questions.

We are not sure what it is going to look like or about its features. The only information we have right now is a revealing trailer which is, unfortunately, quite short:

– Mooom! Atari is back!

– So it begins…

The name Atari is enough for me to remember the good old childhood memories. The console with thousands of 8bit games, hours and weeks spent in front of the TV and my mom’s raging scream coming from the hallway in the middle of the night…*sigh*, good old times. We don’t know how long it’s been since the company first had this idea. But it’s always good to see a familiar face around. Especially after such a long time.

The reason why it took a while for Atari to come back is that it had many economical problems in the past. Current CEO bought the company and it started making profit by mostly focusing on game developpement rather than the hardware business. But now, they are coming back to the market. And for the older generation who grew up with the classic Atari games and consoles, it is an undeniable source of nostalgia.

The main problem with this idea is that the market is already too excited about the Xbox One X and other console news. We are not sure if it’s a good idea to make a come-back during this time. But no matter what, it will be interesting to see another console to compete with other huge names. And the time will tell us if it has a chance to stay for a while or not.

If you want to have more news about the new Atari console, stay tuned fellas!
