Original Half-Life Gets a New Patch After 4 Years

Good news fellas! After years of waiting and suffering and speculations, Valve has finally released it…an update for original Half-Life!!! Yay the hype is real, the excitement overwhelms me with…with…ah who am I kidding? Yes there is a new update for original Half-Life which fixes various bugs and glitches.

After 4 years, valve has released another update for the original title. Details are in the list below.

Half-Life Patch July 11th features:
  • Fixed crash when entering certain malformed strings into the game console. Thanks to Marshal Webb from BackConnect, Inc for reporting this.
  • Fixed crash when loading a specially crafted malformed BSP file. Thanks to Grant Hernandez (@Digital_Cold) for reporting this.
  • Fixed malformed SAV files allowing arbitrary files to be written into the game folder. Thanks to Vsevolod Saj for reporting this.
  • Fixed a crash when quickly changing weapons that are consumable. Thanks to Sam Vanheer for reporting this.
  • Fixed crash when setting custom decals

The update is automatically downloaded on Steam. So you don’t have to worry about finding it or downloading it. Heck, I’m not even sure if there are people who are worried about some bugs of Half-Life or not? It is possible that’s for sure. So for those who still like the game and play it, this might be an interesting improvement. As for the others, well, we will still wait in the dark corners of our living room, sitting with a bucket of ice-cream and dreaming about an official statement about “you know what”.
