No Main Assasin’s Creed Games in 2016

Take a breath, assasinos! The franchise we all love but somewhat get bored to see every year, finally decided to take a break. In a lot of gamers’ opinion, after Assasin’s Creed 2, things got gradually worse. Besides being a solid gaming experience (except Unity); the sense of wonder and curiosity in series became limb, the mystery behind the main story is dissolved within the hollow protagonists. Alright, maybe that was a bit harsh -there were good characters; but after Ezio, players rightfully demand more, I guess.

Directly from Ubiblog:

“This year, we also are stepping back and re-examining the Assassin’s Creed franchise. As a result, we’ve decided that there will not be a new Assassin’s Creed game in 2016,” the studio said.

“Since the release of Assassin’s Creed Unity, we’ve learned a lot based on your feedback. We’ve also updated our development processes and recommitted to making Assassin’s Creed a premier open-world franchise. We’re taking this year to evolve the game mechanics and to make sure we’re delivering on the promise of Assassin’s Creed offering unique and memorable gameplay experiences that make history everyone’s playground.”

Well, we all wish the renewal process turns out good. One must be very distracted or irrationally angry to call an Assasin’s Creed game “trash”, for all of them were good in one way or another; but after AC2, the sense of “completeness” was lacking, we must admit that. So, let’s wait and see. Adios, assasinos!
